TACD Recommendations to the TEC, May 13 2008

TACD IP Working Group Letter to Susan Schwab and Peter Mandelson regarding the Thailand compulsory licensing dispute

The TACD IP Working Group has sent a letter expressing concern at the pressure currently being exerted on the government of Thailand by the EU and U.S. regarding its policy on the issuance of compulsory licences for medicine patents. You can find the letter here.

TACD Priorities for the TEC in 2008

In response to the invitation for members of the TEC advisory group to provide additional suggestions for the Council's work programme, TACD has re-emphasised the importance of its recommendations made in October 2007 and once again urged the TEC to broaden its agenda to include measures to improve consumer welfare and empowerment. TACD Recommendations to the Transatlantic Economic Council (TEC)

Prior to the first meeting of the TEC in Washington on the 9th of November, TACD submitted a series of recommendations for consideration by the Council members.

TACD Conference "The Reform of WIPO: Implementing the Development Agenda"

On the 17th of September TACD held a conference on the reform of WIPO with particular reference to looking at the key requirements for the successful implementation of the Development Agenda. You can find an agenda for the meeting here.

TACD Comments on Transatlantic Economic Council (TEC) initial priorities

As an official member of the TEC advisory group, TACD sent a letter to the TEC co-chairs Al Hubbard (National Economic Council) and Günter Verheugen (European Commission Vice President) with comments on the initial priorities set out in the TEC framework.

TACD statement to 2007 EU-US Summit
